Chelsea this season have a better record against the top 6 of the Premier League as compare to the midtable teams. It seams like their purpose this season is same as Robin Hood, to distribute the points from the rich that are Big 6 to the poor which are the other teams.

Chelsea this season Drew to Liverpool and Arsenal and won against Tottenham. These three teams come under the Riches of Premier League. However their performance against other midtable teams such as Westham, Brentford, Aston Villa and Nottm Forest have been poor as they lost form all Four.

Chelsea has had its moments of upsetting the established order in the Premier League, especially during seasons when they've been considered underdogs against dominant teams. Historically, Chelsea has had periods of being the underdog, rising to challenge the bigger clubs, and indeed, in certain seasons, they've surprised everyone with unexpected victories.

Their knack for triumphing against more favored opponents and changing the landscape of the league could earn them the "Robin Hood" comparison, as they might take points from the league leaders and redistribute hope to teams lower down the table. The ebb and flow of football often sees teams assume different roles at different times, and Chelsea has certainly had moments of playing that role in the Premier League.

Chelsea's roller-coaster rolls on in latest high-scoring thrillers

TOTTENHAM 1-4 CHELSEA

Chelsea emerged from a thrilling encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a 4-1 win against Spurs. Tottenham players Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were given red cards while Son Heung-min, Eric Dier, Raheem Sterling, Moisés Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson all had goals disallowed in a thrilling encounter. The result leaves Tottenham in second and Chelsea move up to 10th spot.

Chelsea came from behind to beat nine-man Spurs 4-1 in a frenzied game on Mauricio Pochettino’s return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Nicolas Jackson fired a hat-trick in a final crazy 20 minutes to cap a breath-taking game that will go down as one of the most eventful to be played in the Premier League, with five goals disallowed, multiple VAR checks and two red cards shown.

Their biggest chance for an equaliser fell to Son who was repelled by Sanchez in stoppage-time, and on the counterattack, Jackson grabbed his brace and moments later, his hat-trick.

This is a game that will live long in the memory – a game that almost defied belief. While the score looks like a heavy defeat for Tottenham, it’s one that undoubtedly flatters a nervy Chelsea side that threatened to surrender their lead to their nine-man opponents.

Inspired by their charismatic manager, Spurs played with tremendous bravery and belief (and some naivety), and were almost rewarded with the most unlikely of draws. The unwavering support shown by their fans was testament to their incredible effort.

Chelsea 4-4 MAnchester City

It proved to be a match for the ages as Chelsea and Manchester City settled for a point a piece in their epic Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge. Eight goals flooded in amid relentless drama before Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola shook hands on a 4-4 draw. It was a pulsating clash that neither team deserved to lose as heavy rain and serious drama brought it to a close.

Cole Palmer scored a stoppage-time equaliser against former club Manchester City as the Premier League champions drew 4-4 with Chelsea in a sensational game at Stamford Bridge.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring via a controversial penalty, before goals from Thiago Silva and then Raheem Sterling - who was outstanding against his old team - drew Chelsea back in front.

Yet it was 2-2 at the interval after Manuel Akanji, left unmarked from a corner, equalised in added time and Haaland bundled in his second right after the restart to again give City the lead.

Nicolas Jackson reacted first to a minor Ederson error to make it 3-3, then Rodri looked to have won it for the visitors with a long-range strike that deflected past Robert Sanchez.

More drama was to come. Substitute Armando Broja was felled in the Chelsea box in stoppage time and Palmer - who started the season as a City player - was nerveless in dispatching the spot kick.

The draw leaves Man City on 28 points, one clear at the Premier League summit. Chelsea jump to 10th with 16 points.

Mykhailo Petrovych Mudryk also known as "Misha", is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a left winger for Premier League club Chelsea and the Ukraine national team.

Mudryk began his career in the academies of Metalist Kharkiv and Dnipro, before moving to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2016. He made his professional debut two years later, followed by loans to Arsenal Kyiv and Desna Chernihiv. In 2023, he moved to English club Chelsea in a transfer worth an initial €70 million (£62 million), making him the most expensive Ukrainian footballer of all time and the most expensive player ever signed from the Ukrainian Premier League.

Mudryk has been a Ukrainian senior international since 2022, having previously featured in several youth levels.

Mudryk's debut came on 21 January, as Chelsea drew 0–0 away to Liverpool in a league match. His first start came against Fulham in a 0–0 draw on 4 February. On 2 October, Mudryk scored his first competitive goal for Chelsea on his 24th appearance, opening the scoring in a 2–0 Premier League win against Fulham. On 21 October, he scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge from a long range shot in a 2–2 draw against Arsenal. During an EFL Cup match against Newcastle United on 19 December 2023, Mudryk scored an equaliser in stoppage time to help his team to a 1–1 draw, which Chelsea would go on to win on penalties.

Chelsea Job not that Difficult

 

Chelsea job not as hard as Southampton or Tottenham – Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino believes he is under no greater pressure from the owners at Chelsea than in either of his two previous Premier League appointments.

The Argentinian enjoyed successful spells with Southampton and Tottenham, guiding the latter to the Champions League final in 2019, but has seen his new side struggle for goals and wins since he was appointed in the summer despite a huge transfer outlay.

He famously enjoyed a close relationship with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy prior to being sacked five months after taking the club to within a game of being crowned European champions. At Southampton there was a similarly jovial working arrangement with executive chairman Nicola Cortese, who appointed Pochettino in order to try and stabilize Saints in the top flight, a task he achieved comfortably during his 18 months in charge.

Yet Chelsea has brought a different level of expectation with over £1billion spent on recruitment by co-owner Todd Boehly’s Clearlake Capital consortium, an investment that is yet to yield results with the club mired in the bottom half of the table. Pochettino said that far from making the task harder, the work that had gone on prior to his appointment at Stamford Bridge has made his job less complicated.

“It’s less hard than when we were in Southampton and Tottenham, trust me,” he said. “Believe me.The only thing we are missing is scoring goals, because the team is playing, if you see our first few months in Southampton and Tottenham, I think we (Chelsea) are playing much better. We are doing much better here, but we are missing the most important (thing) in football – to score. But it’s not harder than the previous experience".

Chelsea Players Feeling Pressure of Poor Results

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said "pressure" is inevitable when results are not forthcoming as his side face an uphill battle to qualify for European football this season. Nearing the midway point of Pochettino's first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League -- four points behind ninth-place West Ham -- and will need to improve their results or face another season in midtable. 

 CHELSEA VS WEST HAM

West Ham 3-1 Chelsea

Goals at the start of each half prevented Chelsea from turning possession into points as our first away trip of the season ended in a 3-1 defeat at West Ham United.

For most of this encounter at the London Stadium, Chelsea found ourselves in possession and laying siege to our opponents' penalty area, but were left with nothing to show for it as the home side made their two threatening spells at the start of each half count, before a late penalty made it three.

 CHELSEA VS BRENTFORD

Chelsea 0-2 Brentford

For the third season in a row, Brentford have come to West London rivals Chelsea and emerged victorious at Stamford Bridge. This victory lacked some of the free flowing football that marked their previous wins, with a strong defensive performance required as Chelsea peppered the Brentford goal. 

But Brentford held firm and they produced the goal they needed on the counter to move into the top half. Bryan Mbeumo and Ethan Pinnock were on target as Brentford won 2-0 at Chelsea to triumph at Stamford Bridge for a historic third season in a row and end the Blues’ recent revival. Mauricio Pochettino’s home side had dominated the first 45 and carved out a series of good openings, but could not find the breakthrough with Noni Madueke going closest with a shot that came back off the frame of the goal.

'Very good things are coming'

 Mauricio Pochettino believes 'very good things are coming' for Chelsea as the bond between the coaching staff and first-team squad continues to grow.

It is four-and-a-half months since Pochettino and his staff arrived at Stamford Bridge. Much work has been done in that time, both on the training pitches at Cobham and within the first-team building, to forge relationships with with players.

Throughout pre-season and during the early weeks of the campaign, when performances weren't equating to results, the atmosphere within the squad remained positive. And that has now been rewarded with three consecutive victories in all competitions.

Yet Pochettino believes there is far more to come from his side as the campaign progresses. Speaking exclusive, he said: 'It’s always about building a team,' It’s a young squad, a team that still need to to know each other.

'Only with time and training can we provide the team with what it needs. It’s why it is only a matter of time, no doubt.

'We need to be calm in the way we judge players and the team. I think we are growing and very good things are coming. You can feel that, even if sometimes we have some ups and downs. But, in the end, we will succeed together, for sure.’

It is well documented that Pochettino – and those in his coaching team – invest a lot of emotional energy into their work. That approach to man-management is not an easy one, but the Chelsea head coach believes it is vital to achieving success.

‘I was able to realize my dream’: Eden Hazard retires from football aged 32

Eden Hazard insisted he had lived the dream after announcing his retirement from football at the age of 32, the Belgian bringing to an end a career marked by dazzling skill and an impressive haul of trophies but which was ultimately wrecked by injuries.

Hazard rarely featured for Real Madrid having joined the Spanish giants for £88.5m from Chelsea in June 2019, in total making 76 appearances during his four years at the Bernabéu, only completing 90 minutes in six of those, and not once after December 2021. It was a situation the winger accepted could no longer continue.

“You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time,” Hazard wrote in a statement posted on Instagram. “After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer. I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world. Thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.”

 

 

Hazard announces his retirement 

“Chelsea has the best project,” said Hazard following the completion of his £32m move to Stamford Bridge. “The team is young and I have a better chance to play there. If I play well enough at Chelsea, I could win my place in the starting team. When they won the Champions League, I told myself: ‘Why not Chelsea?’”

Things started well for Hazard in west London – he provided an assisted on his Premier League debut against Wigan and scored himself soon after against Newcastle. But there were also some early bumps, most notably the red card he was shown at Swansea in January 2013 for kicking a teenage ballboy in frustration.

Hazard got over his jaw-dropping loss of cool in south Wales and over the course of the next six years established himself as one of Chelsea’s very best players. Creative, quick, strong and ruthless, Hazard had it all and was crucial to the team’s success in that time, most notably winning two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues, an FA Cup and League Cup. In 2015, he was also named PFA player of the year.
